BIO

Mancuska’s was born in 1972, Bratislava, Slovakia and died in 2011, Prague, Czech Republic. His first installations were constructed using the peripheral materials of civilization, having a deep emotional-‐ social charge that echoed his interest in the “authenticity” of production. Towards the end of his career, Mancuska’s approach became slightly more objective, through the use of language in site-‐specific installations. Cutting texts into a wall or displaying a story within the space, the artist created a tension between reading and seeing, narrative and painting, the personal and public space.
